The Discovery of a forgotton lineage.

Project Goal:
To discover a dna/surname connection in the British Isles for the lineage of the 18th Century Colonial Bay family, from whom a large genealogical tree spread across the United States. We hope to discover the 'lost' connection to the Bay family in Great Britain, and (or) Ireland they descend from.
* Memeber Martin Porter could possibly descend from part of the 'Colonial Bay' lineage. We will try and determine when and where his family tree branches from our common paternal ancestor.

Project Goal: to determine if Peter Bays I of Henrico is Descendant
Results arrived on 7/19/07 with a 12/12 match to a descendant of
Peter Bays confirming a Bays/Baize family relationship
The Base Surname variation occuring on the list of the living
and the Dead as early as 1623:
Variant surnames confirmed by genealogical research are Base,Baise,
Basse,Bays,Baize,Baze.
