A very grainy photo of my second great grandfather George William Bailey (d bef 1880). He was the son of Israel S. Bailey (1814-1870) and Mary E. Krieger (b. 1822).
My great, great grand father, John W Bailey had 12 children. My great, great, great grandfather, John Bailey had 8 children. John was born in 1786 in Charlotte County, Virginia and died in 1829 in Campbell County Virginia. John W was born in 1814 in Mt Zion, Virginia and died before 1874 probably in Campbell county Virginia. I am hoping to find relatives of those descendants and beyond. I think John's father was William Bailey. For those who are interested, my kit number is MK50651. I am awaiting the Y67 results and have upgraded to the Big Y. According to Living DNA, my Haplogroup is R-L21 and my subclade is R-DF13, which is down stream of R-M269. If you think we might be related, you can check out my family tree. Hopefully I'll get some matches when my results come in.

The Bailey Family of Odd Rode, Cheshire, England. Greetings. I have just joined your project. I am a member of the very large English Bailey family originating from the Cheshire/ Staffordshire border. This area has the highest concentration of Baileys in England. Over the last 200 years the family were settled in Odd Rode and Astbury. Prior to that they lived in the Biddulph Moor area. In the picture are 4 generations of the family. The elderly gentleman is John Bailey of Odd Rode (1801-1895) (my 4x great grandfather). I have just ordered a Y-DNA test so hopefully we can link this English concentration to the Baileys in North America and Australia. John Bailey
