The goal of this project is to determine whether all families carrying the Bacharach surname, with all its spelling variants, are descended from a common ancestor or whether they adopted the surname independently. In addition, there are a number of people who belong to the same DNA lineage as the majority of Bacharach participants but who carry a different surname. We encourage those testers to join us also.
