BIG NEWS COMING SOON!  Four of the kits have completed a Big Y test and two more are waiting for Big Y results.  This is a much more refined test, and a more accurate predictor of relatedness.  You can see the refined haplogroups for the kits that are finished now.

The Big Y test changed the paradigm of Y-SNP testing. Before the Big Y, SNP testing was primarily useful before the advent of surnames; but today, SNPs are useful in determining genetic lines of both closely and distantly related men. SNP markers mutate at a much slower rate than STRs, which makes them more stable for determining relationships. But you need to test millions of locations to find the relevant markers, which is exactly what the Big Y test does.-Family Tree DNA

There are now six subjects in Group A who have tested to the 111 STR marker level and they remain close matches, sharing a common paternal ancestor.  Their results can be viewed under the "Results" tab.
Based on the Y-111 STR test results, the FTDNA TIP calculator is showing a 99.78% chance these men share a common male ancestor within 8 generations.  That prediction is possible because of the number of markers they have tested.  FTDNA customers who tested fewer markers will not have predictions that precise.
