About us
Goal
The samples should not share recent paternal line of descent within the last 3-4 generations.
The samples should be representative of the Arain population, who can trace their ancestral origins to the following areas:
- East Punjab (Amritsar, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Hisar, etc.)
- West Punjab (Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Toba Tek Singh, Multan, etc.)
- Haryana (Ambala)
- Uttar Pradesh (Bareilly, Pilibhit, etc.)
- Kashmir (Mirpur)
- Sindh (Karachi)
- Others
The results will provide a better understanding of the distribution of Arain Y haplogroup terminal clades.
This will enable a better understanding of when Arain may have formed as a baradari, and what neighbouring baradari we may share affinities with.
Each Big Y700 test costs about $400, so a fundraising target of $20k is required to complete this project.
