It is strongly linked to the Natufians, one of the first civilizations to build permanent settlements and practice early agriculture, laying the groundwork for the Neolithic revolution. Genetic studies show E-M123 was a dominant paternal lineage among the Natufians, making it a direct link to early human civilization in the region. This lineage later contributed to the rise of Semitic-speaking peoples, including the Canaanites, and remains deeply rooted in the DNA of many modern Arab populations across Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.
