A grand jury in Richmond County, Virginia, presented Edward Allgood (b. 24 Mar 1697/8) for living in adultery with Judith Fann. So, our first Allgood tester was actually recruited by the Fann (or Fenn) family. This man was known to be descended from John Allgood (b. ca 1757 in Virginia; d. 1834 in Breckinridge County, Kentucky), who was thought to be descended from the Edward mentioned above. When our tester's results were returned in April 2006, however, they did not match those of two men thought to descend from Judith Fann and Edward.

In 2015 our Project has 17 members: 10 have direct male Allgood ancestors, 3 have the Allgood surname but not the Allgood DNA, 1 is descended from a female Allgood, 2 are Alligoods and 1 is a woman associated with the Alligood family.

Of the members with known Allgood ancestors, 3 are descended from Edward E. (1804-1881), 2 are descended from Edward (1767-1820), 2 are descended from John (1757-1834), 1 is descended from John (1751-1839), and 1 is descended from William (1761-1847).
