About us

The Alcorn name originated in England with Alchorne. It was later found in Scotland as Aldcorne, Auldcorne and Allcorne. Some Scots migrated to Ulster Province of Ireland and the name became Alcorn. When migration from the British Isles to the Colonies began, Alcorns or Allcorns were among those settling here. The earliest Alcorns tended to land in Virginia and the Carolinas; the later ones were welcomed in Pennsylvania. As those areas became more crowded, descendents moved west over northern and southern trails. Where did your ancestors come from 500 years ago?
