Various STEFFY/STEFFEN groups settled or have origins in early PA. Most left Germany as STEPHAN and later became STEFFEN and STEFFY (or similar variants). Sometimes families appear as STEFFEN/STEPHEN in official documents but informally went by STEFFY/STEFFY. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, many anglicized their names to STEPHEN, STEPHENS or STEVENS. We seek to ID genetic representatives for each group to assist further genealogical research--especially those who have exhausted their paper trail. We welcome participation by anyone who is trying to find their STEFFY/STEFFEN family no matter what group or geographical area.  Anyone who cannot find a more suitable place to test for other surnames is welcome, as well.
