There seems to be several origins for the surname 'Wilde' and related names, and many of these also may be related through ancient migrations not historically recorded.The initial origins seem to be German or of the Netherlands, and some of these peoples fled to England, Ireland, Wales, and other places... later migrations to the US, Australia and other new world locations followed. Several initiatives have been underway using standard genealogical techniques, to establish family origins and relationships. Many of these are stalled after only a few generations of records.

The usage of DNA is now being employed to extend and connect these lineages to origins both historical and ancient. Please see our current origins theories for our Haplogroup G2a participants as an example of this emerging capability.

Note : The administrators have been updating this website incrementally over time, providing periodic small adjustments regularly, but one major update approximately once per year. As the project participants have grown in number, the analysis contained within has grown longer.
