About us

The Goal is to try and capture all the various lines of the 'Wilde's', determine how they migrated, how they are (or may not be) related, plot their migratory journeys geographically if possible, and create a reference that would allow anyone with a heritage of these last names who may or may not have a good personal Genealogical record to place their ancestry through DNA as far back as we can go. Current Y-DNA members show belonging to the Haplogoups B, E1b1, G2a, I1, I2b1, J2 and R1b1a2, which indicates surely multiple separate origins.

If you have a surname heritage of Wild, Wildy, Wildey,Wilday, Wildee, Wilds, Wildes, Wiles, Whiles, Wylde or Wiley or some similar name, you may also be related to these lines and may be interested to participate.

To accomplish these goals, we are looking for agreeing participants to include a GEDCOM file with their known lineage including historical location data to their FTDNA record. It is not necessary for all participants to attach a GEDCOM file, and so if you are interested to participate and do not have a good record set, please do not let that prohibit you. That stated, we are disappointed that only 10% of our project participants to date have submitted a GEDCOM.  A fair amount of combined DNA/GEDCOM pairs will facilitate the overall goals in creating a linked data record, but the more records of any kind we can include, the better.
