Project Background
I2b1 Walk the Y (WTY)Project
The WTY project began in April of 2009. The initial goal is to find new SNPs that will divide I2b1* Continental-1&2 and I2b1* Roots.
A donor was selected from each subclade and funds graciously accepted from numerous donors. Each test costs $750, so a total of $1500 was collected.
The donors were required to fill out a WTY application to be approved by FTDNA before testing could begin. The I2b1 Continental donor has been accepted and testing is in progress with results due on 6/15/2009.
The I2b1 Roots donor's application has also been accepted and the results due 07/13/2009/
