27 Jan 2006 - The results for the first study participant have been posted under the "Y Results" tab. This gentleman is a descendant of Peter Delp/Delph (b. ca 1755, d. bef 11 Dec 1840 in Grayson Co., VA) through Peter's son John (b. ca 1777 in NC). His Y-DNA probably belongs to Haplogroup I, which is mainly found in northwestern Europe, central Europe, and the British Isles. Haplogroup I is most common in locales historically associated with "Viking" populations.
27 Feb 2006 - Inital Y-DNA results of the second study participant, a descendant of Peter Delp/Delph (b. ca 1755, d. bef 11 Dec 1840 in Grayson Co., VA) through his son Daniel (b. ca 1776 in NC, d. 1860 in Hawkins Co., TN), are in and he matches the descendant of Peter's son John for 12 out of 12 markers. This match indicates that their's is the Y-DNA of their common male ancestor Peter Delp(h), the progenitor of the Grayson Co., VA Delp/Delph family.
