The Delp/Delph Surname DNA Study has been etablished to determine the relationships between the various Delp(h) families in Germany, the United States and worldwide.

There were four colonial Delp families in America:

1. Montgomery Co., PA family (descendants of Johann Georg Delp, b. 1718);
2. Berk Co., PA family (descendants of Johann Nicholas Delp, b. 1697); 
2. Culpeper/Madison Co., VA family (descendants of Conrad Delp, b. abt 1720); and
3. Grayson Co., VA family (descendants of Peter Delp, b. abt 1755).

Most Delps/Delphs in the US tie into one of these four groups.  Other smaller Delp families have immigrated to various parts of the United States since the colonial period as well.  DNA testing will determine if any or all of these families have a common male ancestor.  Please contact me for further information.
