Background
The Delp/Delph Surname DNA Study has been etablished to determine the relationships between the various Delp/Delph families in the United States and worldwide. There are three main families in the US which standard genealogical research has yet to connect, the:
1. Montgomery Co., PA family (descendants of Johann Georg Delp, b. abt 1718);
2. Culpeper/Madison Co., VA family (descendants of Conrad Delp, b. abt 1720); and
3. Grayson Co., VA family (descendants of Peter Delp, b. abt 1755).
Most Delps/Delphs in the US tie into one of these three groups. DNA testing will determine if any or all of these families have a common male ancestor.
