We have recently established Y-chromosome number sets for both early Weckesser families in Germany, from Hessen-Kassel, and the border region of Baden and Württemberg. We have also found two families, the Uffingers or Ueffingers, and the Dieffenbachs or Deffinbaughs, who derive from the same small region, and appear to be related in the male line to the Weckessers and Wickizers of Baden-Württemberg. The two main Weckesser lines, however, are NOT related to each other. We do not yet have any participants from the Werkheiser line.
