About us

Also known as a "Mulatto-Indian-Nation", &/or ('Mulindian Nation') founded as a forum for persons of well-documented Indian ancestry who for unclear reasons,...still remain without tribal enrollment. This surname-research-project, though NOT directly affiliated with the Piscataway Indian Nation nor its sub-tribes,...is definitely designed primarily to assist the research efforts of descendants of the people formerly known as "Wesorts",...from southeast Maryland and Virginia,... whom MAY or MAY NOT BE officially-accepted members of one of the three (3) factions of the Piscataway Indian Nation, which is Maryland's "state-recognized" tribe. To join this project, the applicants must firstly meet criteria showing that on a verifiable 4-GENERATION-GENEALOGY CHART, that he/she is directly descended from at least one of the nine (9) tri-racial :CLANS" of southeast Maryland, or Virginia, whose blood-lineages are from the following nine (9) CLAN SURNAMES: Butler, Gray, Harley, Newman, Proctor, Queen, Savoy, Swann, and Thompson. To avoid loss of valuable time and money, persons who DO NOT HAVE at least ONE parent, or one grand-parent with at least one (1) of those aforementioned clan surnames, should NOT apply to this project since the main focus of this project is LIMITED to persons whom are descendants of the people formerly known as "WESORTS", and in many cases STILL ARE KNOWN to be an ethnic-people of European + Indian + African, mixed-race people, called "Wesorts", and whom during the colonial era, and immediately following the Civil War, were also known as "Wesorts", "Wesort-Indians", "biracial-mulattos", "tri-racial-lsolates", "Mulattos", "Mulatto-Indians", "free-people-of-color", and/or as "Chesapeake-Creoles". The #1 goal of this Project is to use DNA forensics to assist in every way possible, the aforementioned persons, proven to be qualified project-members,...to use genealogy & dna-tests to unravel the very inter-twined and complex genealogical/family-tree charts of this historical, tri-racial ethnicity. Goal #2 is to act as a forum which facilitates an exchange of information between members, and as a consultation service to encourage the research efforts of the members of this group-project, especially those members who still remain as "NON-ENROLLED-Indians", meaning without tribal-enrollment in either a federally-recognized, or state-recognized tribe,....and as such,... are "non-represented" persons of verifiable Indian ancestry. As a "Non-Enrolled Indian" of Native-American ancestry, such persons remain DIS-ENFRANCHISED and without the protection of federal &/or state Laws which provide for the educational opportunities, housing benefits, and health benefits that are being granted to the other "TRIBALLY-ENROLLED-Indians" on a daily basis. Note: Nowadays, aided by computer technology, extensive genealogical, anthropological, and archealogical research,... historians have become recently, more enlightened, and now know that the "tri-racial people" of southeast Maryland, are the descendants of the indigenous Piscataway Indians of Maryland. While it is true that many are also partially of other east-coast Indian lineages, especially Cherokee,...these persons now know that they are NOT full-Cherokees as previously believed, due to previously-erroneous governmental information. Goal #3 is to assist those whom may be "qualified", interested members of the group, to apply for the CDIB (Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood) via the BIA (the Bureau of Indian Affairs. DISCLAIMER "Assistance" to a "qualified member" of this project, is limited to dna research and scholarly, academic research, and does not, in any way, involve assistance with, or participation in law-suits or litigation in any form, whatsoever. Other Requirements for membership in this Project: (1)A four-generation genealogy chart with supporting documentation. (2)For basic membership, prospective members should apply for and take the "FAMILY FINDER" FTDNA test. (3)Per new scientific technology the "Family Finder" test is also recomended for those members whom are specifically interested in applying for tribal cards, and/or tracing "in-depth" ethnic genetic data relative to Indian (Native American ancestry. Please note that dna-tests taken by other companies are not generally acceptable for this project.
