About us
This project is for the male & female descendants of families of Southwestern Virginia during the early 1700's - late 1800's.
There was a large expansion into the Blue Ridge at this time and many of these families continued to migrate westward into Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and beyond.
This project covers Southwestern Virginia to include the counties of: Franklin, Patrick,Grayson, Smyth, Lee, Scott, Wise, Dickenson, Henry, Carroll, Wythe, Buchanan, Russell, Tazewell, Bland, Giles, Craig, Floyd, Bedford, Amherst, Pulaski, Pittsylvania, and Montgomery. Feel free also to join here if your roots are in the North Carolina Counties of Ashe, Alleghany, Surry, Yadkin, Wilkes,and Watauga. Those neighboring counties were often shared by the same SWVirginia families.
