About us

The STUBBLEFIELD DNA PROJECT is an ongoing project open to any MALE descendant with the Stubblefield surname. Our primary objective is to try to identify and tie together the numerous Stubblefield families to assist in proving our relationships. Men having Y-DNA testing done should have a Stubblefield or variant surname, or have reason to believe they are Stubblefield by paternity. Both men and women who have taken the Family Finder test are welcome if you match others with the Stubblefield surname, but tools are limited at the project level for Family Finder. If you do not carry the Stubblefield surname, but are related and are interested in researching the lineage, please email me directly at: aulicino@hevanet.com as you may wish to join the email list. The email list is open to both men and women as well as testers. Please send your lineage that connects you to the surname, however. (See the example below.) NOTE: I do not share emails, data on living people nor the maiden names of mothers of living people on the Net nor within the private email list.. No less than 37 Y-DNA marker test is recommended for the project as this puts the matching within a good genealogical time frame. If money is not an issue, please consider the Y-67 or 111 tests. Please note it is imperative that you set your Most Distant Direct Paternal Ancestor with name, some time frame and some geography in your account. You can access this configuration setting from your My Account tab. **** When you submit your Join Request, please include your kit number, your all-male Stubblefield lineage, and information on the Most Distant Ancestor you know in your Stubblefield line. **** Every member is to provide their all-male lineage from the oldest proven all-male line (Stubblefield or if there is a name change, use that all-male line) to themselves in the format below. Please include all the detail for dates, locations and spouses names as given names that appear in many Stubblefield lineages are the same. EXAMPLE: 1. Nathan Stubblefield, b. ca 1798 TN; d. bet. 1870-80; m.1st 12 Jan 1820 Madison Co, AL to Mary (Polly) Armstrong; m. 2nd 28 Oct 1855 Osage Co, MO to Jemima Suiter, dau of Alexander Suiter. By Mary he had: 2. Absolom Stubblefield ......etc. Once this information is received, you will be able to join. Please contact me for further information at aulicino@hevanet.com
