Administered by Clinton Slayton and Darrell Stanley, this YDNA Project is for all direct male descendants of a suspected Staton heritage, regardless of adoption of other surnames, who are welcome to JOIN their results here. Clinton "adopted" this site from another home and has different rules from the previous administrators, who allowed many non-Staton results to appear in the Project.

Over time, we hope to conjecture pools of matches, so that groupings by haplo match will mean that meaningful Earliest Ancestral Names on the father's side will provide valuable clues to possible lineage in combination with traditional genealogy and other forms of DNA testing.

YDNA is a helpful tool in combination with old-fashioned research with standards based on such literature as Milton Rubincam, Donald Lines Jacobus, and Eugene A Stratton. Alone it is just a bunch of numbers and letters
