The test results for the new member from the DaveScrg branch are in, and his DNA is not a exact match (12 markers) with the individuals tested in the AdamScrg, RbrtScrg, TarwathScrg and JohnScrg branches. Two of twelve markers differed by one number. This means that the DaveScrg line is more distantly related to the other four families...the estimate of the distance to the Most Recent Common Ancestor (MRCA) is over 25 generations, maybe as high as 100, in order to achieve a 90% probability. The other four families that matched exactly on 12 markers are estimated to be related within 24 generations at the 91% probability level. The WillScrg family mismatched by 12 markers, therefore is not likely to be related to the other Scroggie families based on the testing to date.
