About us

Project Goals:
1. Verify kinship of specific participants. Two or more participants may confirm a common ancestor through identical or near identical test results.
2. Compare individual test results with those of other participants who have proven paper trails from historical family lines such as the Canadian LeDouxs.
3. Prove or disprove descendancy from a specific individual by comparing test results with those of his known descendants.
4. Determine which, if any, of the various identified American LeDoux families share a common ancestor.
5. Establish country, region or town of origin for the various American LeDoux families.
6. Help any individual believed to be a LeDoux descendant narrow the focus of his research, especially if little or no paper trail exists.
7. Establish a General Fund in order to recruit new participants by offering free DNA testing.

No doubt many "LeDoux" families made that journey across the ocean to embark upon a new life in a new land. At this time, we have not established a connection between the families. It is our hope that DNA research will prove or disprove these relationships. Eventually, we will have a working outline of the various LeDoux families on this page. This will help us identify from which branches a descendant is needed for testing.
