Welcome to the Keltner DNA Project. This project is open to all Keltners, Kelchners, Kelkners, Ketners, Keltnors, and anyone bearing any other surname variants closely resembling the surname Keltner. This project is now also open to people who can trace their line to a Keltner, but who may not bear the name Keltner or a variant of this surname, AND, importantly, who have or will test and share their Family Finder test results. We ask that Keltners, Kelchners, Kelkners, Ketners, Keltnors, and anyone bearing any other surname variants closely resembling the surname, men who take only a Y-DNA test (for themselves, or as a proxy for a female relatives), test for a minimum of 37 markers. NOTE: As of January, 2015, we are now recommending that ALL group members take the 'Family Finder' test. This opens up DNA matches for each group member to a greater number of people, and is especially important for women with a male Keltner ancestral line.
