About us
The David dit Saint Michel Y DNA Project has the following objectives:
- To engage in the research of David family ancestry, correlating DNA study with historical and genealogical information
- To enable David cousins, who descend from Jean Pierre dit Saint Michel, to share and compare results of their Y DNA tests
- To establish a "signature" Y DNA sequence and baseline for SNPs shared by male descendants of Jean Pierre David dit Saint Michel
- To distinguish the lineage and origins of the the Jean Pierre David dit Saint Michel paternal line by way of DNA testing
- To relate lines of descent to "genetic distance" among David cousins by comparing DNA test results and genealogies
- To explore deep clade Y DNA testing that may unveil new information about the David family's earliest ancestry
