The goals of the project include the following:

1. Establishing -both distant and recent- familial connections between Acuñas.

2. Learning the specifics of the deep ancestry associated with those who bear the surname, thereby gaining valuable insight into those individuals who initially bore the surname(s).

3. Serving to either vindicate or disprove some of the genealogical assertions regarding the origins of the surname(s).
