This project is open to all males who belong to Y-DNA Haplogroup J1 and whose direct paternal lineage is from Italy, including Sicily and Sardinia. If your direct paternal lineage is not from Italy, and you do not belong to Y-DNA Haplogroup J1, please do not join this project. If you have any questions about joining, feel free to contact the group administrator.

Members are encouraged to join all other geographic, haplogroup, and surname projects that are pertinent to their results. In order to develop our understanding of our haplogroup as a whole, and particularly within Italy, members are encouraged to test at least 37 y-STR markers, and to test with either Geno 2.0 (and transfer their results to FTDNA), or to order Big Y from FTDNA. Please contact the group administrator if you have any questions about STR or SNP testing.
