This DNA project is to study the various Hawksley families throughout the United States, the UK and Australia. As Hawksley is a fairly uncommon name, it will be interesting to see if present day modern Hawksley families connect. 

The project administrator has been researching the descendants of John Goodwin Hawksley of Fredericton, New Brunswick and Mars Hill, Maine since 1993. Thus far, John's father remains a mystery, though we have his sisters' and mother's names. At this time, there is a hypothesis as to the identity of John's father. We hope to have several other participants to compare, including those with documented lines back to John Goodwin Hawksley, as well as other Hawksley descendants from around the world to confirm or disprove this hypothesis.
