Please Note:  The DNA Results link on the left side of this page only shows DNA markers with no explanation (which doesn't help folks that are new to DNA research).  We attempt to give an easy-to-understand summary below.

From the volunteers tested so far, 4 distinct lineages emerged.

Lineage 1 - Most volunteers in this line have a common male ancestor of William Zachary b.1750 who married Jemima Johnson.  There is one exception that is under investigation.  Kits in this lineage are:  B1375, 206865, 223421, 643645, 760084 and 879358.

Lineage 2 - All volunteer in this lineage have the Zachary ancestry described in “The Zachary Family Westward” by Terri Zachary Coleman and Beverly Zachary Layton - a great resource for Zachary’s in the United States which has a paper trail back to England. Lineage 1 is not related to DNA volunteers in this lineage as they do not match at least 34 of 37 DNA markers.

Lineage 3 - Volunteer is not related to Lineage 1, 2 or 4.

Lineage 4 - Volunteer is not related to Lineage 1, 2 or 3.
