GOALS as it concerns our Y-DNA, Facebook, TheYarbrough Genealogical & Historical Association, Inc. initiatives:

Our first and most important goal is to help our members by dramatically increasing our Y-DNA Y37 numbers (Y37, as a minimum). And for those that have taken some sort of autosomal test, we urge them to file their results with GedMatch.

We believe our Yarbrough project member head counts are a fraction of what it could be.

To accomplish better numbers, we have been establishing new collaboration processes, retooling our knowledge-base, and creating a better feedback loop between our members and the insights we've learned from our data. We believe with better systems and better outreach, more prospective members will become enthusiastic and eventually join our ranks.

It's our hope that we can eventually catalog all the existing (and historical) Yarbrough pedigrees and whenever they are related, we can explain those branches and sub-branches.

Our goals will always rely on members having the most appropriate information(both genetic and paper-trail) accessible to them, the best expert advice, and substantive community support. With these ideas in place, we can help them break through their brick walls. And we can help ourselves as a group develop a better understanding of what Yarbrough as a surname means both today and throughout time.
