The goal of the Wooten Family DNA Project is to discover common paternal ancestors and establish connections among the various Wooten families through Y-chromosome DNA tests. There are gaps in written records that until now have been filled with educated guesses and “gut-feelings”. Hopefully this project will be able to confirm the results of many hard-working genealogists and establish connections that would otherwise not be found. After identifying all unique Wooten lines in America, the goal will be to re-establish European roots for these lines.
