About us
It has long been believed by many that anyone with the surname WEED is a descendant of Jonas WEED who immigrated early, and has a large number of known descendants.
As there were at least 12 other immigrant men with the name of WEED who came before 1750, this is highly unlikely.
For those of us researching the name WEED who have encountered "brick walls", hopefully DNA testing will help us connect with others of the name WEED who have established and proven research, and we can break through these barriers.
note project admin. Loraine Darling:
Having researched my WEED lines for a nubmer of years, my brick wall is in Mississippi and Louisiana. My lines are Joel/Joseph WEED ( both names are used) 1782 in Natchez, MS, 1813 Wilkinson Co., MS, Benjamin b 1797, MS, Benjamin Jr., b 1821 LA, Solomon b 1849, Texas, Jesse b 1873, TX, & Jeffie b 1905, TX.
