About us
The Y-DNA results for the ancestry of #42887 (Jacob Warwick) and the ancestry of #161922 (William Wawick) are not a match -- not even close. Even though they lived within a few miles of each other in Pocahontas County, WV, they do not share a common male line ancestor; however, they still may be related. In comparing #42887 with the total data base, there is a very close match with members of the Gay family who lived in Augusta County, VA, and who intermarried with the Warwicks. It would appear that Jacob Warwick is a case of false paternity. Sleuthing in Augusta County records indicated a Martha Warwick was charged with bastardy in 1745 about when Jacob Warwick is believed to have been born.
