The Wakeley Family DNA Project was established to encourage testing and sharing of information between members of the various related Wakeley surnames. There are also connected surnames, Rockett, and Rockwood. Rockett has been associated with the Wakeley name in times past because of a marriage between the Wakeley and Rockett families. It would be interesting to see if this can be shown genetically. The same can be said for the connection between the Weakley and Wakeley surnames. Rockwood seems to have originated in Dorset, and the families settled in Rhode Island, USA.
