Seeking to identify and organize early Vowell immigrants to America, and group their descendants into family units. This may include spelling variations of Vowell, but not to be confused with Voyles/Voiles families. Early participants include descendants of William Vowell who was an adult in Hanover Co VA in 1738 and Thomas Vowell who was an adult in Louisa Co VA in 1746. Both men lived in Amelia Co VA and then Granville Co NC and adjacent Mecklenburg Co VA. Their 19th century descendants are found primarily in KY, IN, IL, IA, NEB, OR, NC, SC, GA, AL, MS, AR, LA, TX, OK.
