The goal of the Voikhansky Extended Family project is toidentify and unite descendants.  DNAtests have revealed obvious DNA matching and geographical patterns, aiding infamily research and the joining of family trees.

The starting pointfor participants may be the match to several Gedmatch kits with the voikhanskyusa@gmail.com email, or persons with the Voikhansky orVaikhansky surname in their list of ancestors in other websites.

DNA matches will often reflect a great degree of endogamydue to intermarriage.  High matchingresults have been found to indicate close relationships or intermarriage of oneor more grandparents. Conversely, a low matching level to known Voikhanskyfamily kits are extremely useful in that they are not skewed by intermarriages andcan focus more clearly on direct lineage. This would include persons with only smaller amounts of Ashkenazi DNA.

Persons with alllevels of matches are encouraged to participate in this project.
