This project exists to bring together Verschaeren men and women interested in exploring family history.
I am also administrator of the Haplogroup G-U1 male line ancestry project. I (and by extension, probably some of you) appear to have a rare ancient ancestry for Western Europe, with the closest genetic relative found so far a Kabardian man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabardino-Balkaria). How and when our ancestors ended up in Belgium/The Netherlands is a mystery I am very keen to resolve.
