The primary goal of this project is to establish a “reference library” of the markers of known Veldsman lineages, against which any Veldsman can compare their marker information to determine which line they are related to. Since individuals that share the same marker patterns and similar surnames also share a common ancestor, this information allows the researcher to quickly focus on one group of Veldsman and also know which Veldsman lines they can exclude!
