About us
Our project goal is to help in genealogically connecting our Vaughan ancestors with each other and to confirm our known genetic lineages as well. We hope, through DNA research, in the Vaughan DNA Project, to establish relationships with other Project members. We encourage members to participate by at least starting with the 37 marker Y-DNA test which may bring the results within the scope of conventional genealogy. We need all men to upgrade their YDNA test to the 67 if not 111 marker level for its better resolution.
The Goals of the Vaughan Dna Project:
* determine which ancestral lines are related
* help participants to confirm family trees
* help participants to obtain clues to help in research, such as clues about migration, and use them to search for paper records
* discover more about the adoption of surnames in history
* determine the number of points of origin of Vaughan surname
*help define the more recent branches in the Vaughan genetic tree
*help to blend DNA research with traditional genealogy to solve genealogy roadblocks
