Anyone with a connection to Vanderpool, Vanderpoel, Van der Poel, Van de Poel, Van de Poll, or other spelling is encouraged to participate in this project. Some of the project goals include: (1) help participants find new Vanderpool connections, (2) determine which Vanderpool lines are related, (3) determine the lines that derive from Jan Van de Poel, the natural son of William I, Count of Hainaut (1286- 7 June 1337). [He was also Count William III of Avesnes, Count William III Holland and Count William II of Zeeland].
