The goals of this project:

(1) Understand the genetic makeup and deep genetic history of the people whose ancestors lived in Trabzon and surrounding region (East Black Sea) in history. In the process, we would like to understand of the historical impact of population migrations, invasions and expansions.

(2) Provide a tool for genealogists to study the kinship of the people who are living/lived in the region, and connect the scientific findings with oral traditions. Descendants of families from different backgrounds which became separated during the historical era  can have a way of finding each other at long last.

Projenin ana hedefleri:

1-) Trabzon ve cevre bölgesini esas olarak, tarihsel sürecte bu bölgede yasayan insanlarimizin genetik kompozisyonunu arastirmak, tarihi sürecte meydana gelen, göclerin, istila ve savaslarin, bu kompozisyonu nasil degistirdigini anlamaya calismak.

2-) Konu ile ilgilenen genetikcilere, bu bölgede yasayan ve yasamis olan insanlar arasinda mevcut akraba baglarini arastirmak icin, bilimsel bir temel sunmak. Yine uzun tarihsel sürecte, cesitli sebeplerle birbirlerinden ayri düsmüs aileleri tekrar biraraya getirmek.

Bütün bu hedefleri gözeterek, genetik bir kütüphane olusturmak.
