This project was organized on June 13, 2005 with the hopes that we can prove or disprove that descendants of similarly sounding surnames of TOVREA / TOVERY / TOBERRY/ TOBERY etc. are of the same lineage.  On April 2008, the connection between two separate TOVREA family groups was proven with the DNA results.  With the back up of a paper trail from genealogical research, a connection to the TOBERY Family of Thomas and Joshua Tobery of Frederick County, Maryland ca 1780 was also was also proven. They were German speaking and members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick County, Maryland.
