The Thifault/Thiffault/Thiffeault surname project is for male descendants (and ancestors) of Jacques Tifault from Gironde, France, who married Marianne L'Ecuyer in 1687 and settled in the province of Quebec, Canada. As this is a surname project, all males of the Thifault/Thiffault/Thiffeault direct parternal line are invited to have their Y-DNA tested to link back to our common ancestor. We also wish to investigate possible connections in Europe as the paper trail in France becomes more challenging to follow.
