About us
So far (Dec. 28, 2013) there are four members of our project. A preliminary examination of the 12-marker test shows that the probability that any one pair of us shared a common ancestor within the past 24 generations is 0.02% at best. (Testing a larger number of markers would make it even worse). 24 generations (at 25-years per generation on average) would bring us back to the year 1400. Our common male ancestor would not have lived prior to the year 1300, at best. Since the name TEITELBAUM was likely adopted around the time of Napoleon`s code (ca 1800) this means that each of our families adopted the surname independently. But if we add more people to our test group, one or more of us might find a `close`relative.
