About us

If you want to PROVE your line to COLONIAL American Stallings, this is the way. The purpose of this project is to connect various STALLINGS family (originally spelled STALLENGE) who trace their roots to colonial Virginia / North Carolina or Southwest England. Joining is an opportunity to share genealogical documentation, and analyze your proximity to other Stallings Project participants, or to anyone in the FTDNA database (over 100,000 individuals). By joining, you agree that your surname and most distant proven ancestor information you provide, are made public. Your personally identifiable information will never be made public. If you do not wish your haplogroup data to be public then you may purchase products directly from FTDNA as an individual. You must also maintain a working email address so that other members may contact you, in case a DNA match is discovered. This project is mostly for males who test (or have tested) at least Y-37 markers. Otherwise, to be admitted individuals MUST match at that level within 4 deviations, have one a surname variant that is listed, OR have a documented / proven line to a paternal STALLINGS. If you are currently a member of the STALLINGS DNA PROJECT and do not wish your haplogroup / surname / most distant ancestor information to be public, then you must contact FTDNA and remove yourself from the STALLINGS DNA PROJECT. By joining this project, you reaffirm the Terms and Conditions of the Family Tree DNA Website, in particular those pertaining to participation in Projects, which describe the possible public display by some Projects Managers of member results, and your right to opt out of certain display settings, which may be found on the Family Tree DNA Website here. The full mtDNA sequence test contains some genes in the coding region (cr). By default these results are unavailable to the Project Administrators. You may choose to allow your Project Administrators to view your coding region results (most people do) by selecting Yes or No in the Results Display Settings section of your Account Settings page.
