We have two different Thomas Springfield families that are not a match to each other. 1- Thomas Springfield born 22 May 1786 in N.C. and died 18 April 1867 in Denmark, Madison county, T.N. Married 3 times with a total of 6 kids.(We know of 3 brother's John Springfield, Anson Springfield and Benjamin Springfield) 2- "Captain" Thomas Springfield born 15 July 1756 and died 21 March 1845 in Traveler's Rest, Greenville, South Carolina. He married Laodicea "Dicey" Langston. We have NO proof of any relations for this Thomas. There is speculation that he was the son of Professor Thomas Springfield in Granville county, N.C. Capt. Thomas and Dicey had about 20 children together. And there are numerous relatives across the US tied back to them.
