Background ...

The administrators of the Speight Family DNA Project are Speight family descendants who have over 15 years of combined experience researching the Speight(s) family lines.  In 2012 we began having family members tested with Y-DNA, mtDNA, and Autosomal DNA (atDNA).  This ultimately led to us starting the Alabama Fever DNA Project through which we included the Speight family in the project.  By 2017, the number of Speight family DNA participates had grown to the point that they were in need of their own Surname project; and as a result, the Speight Family DNA Project was started on February 13, 2017.  If you descend from a Speight ancestor, or any of the variously spelled surnames, we invite you to join our project.  Our project is open to both male and female Speight family descendants who have taken any of the DNA tests--Y-DNA, mtDNA and/or Autosomal DNA.
