We are descendants of John Sluts (1757-1833), who resided in Baltimore and Frederick Counties (MD) and then settled/died in Jefferson County, Ohio, and of Noah Slutts (abt 1815 - bef. 1900), who was born in Ohio and died in Iowa. Using Y-DNA testing and matching, our goals are to: 1) Identify John's father, his European origin, and the approx. time of arrival in the "Colonies." 2) Identify the common paternal ancestor of John and Noah. In the course, we intend to update the comprehensive "1991 Slutz Family History," compiled by Ralph J. Slutz and colleagues (copies available from the Ohio Genealogical Society).
