For the sake of brevity, unless referring to a specific person, "Slaven" will refer to all variations of our surname throughout this site. Also, if your surname is Mount, Mountain, or Hill, and you're of Irish origin, your ancestor may have been a Slaven; Mountain is an English translation of the Gaelic word that gives us our surname.
