About us
The Skinner DNA project is designed to connect members with others who belong to the same haplogroup and appear to descend from a common ancestor based on their YDNA test results. Hopefully those members with matching results will work together to extend their genealogies to their common ancestor and beyond.
YDNA haplogroups have been used to do an initial separation to allow easier comparison of results and find matches. When it is apparent that two or more individuals have a common ancestor, a "Lineage" group is separated out. Some variation in results is normal and expected, especially as the number of STRs being compared increases and, in particular, for the highly variable STRs shown in deep red in the column headings. The colors in individual members' results are blue for those below the average value of a group (think of it as being "colder" than the average) and pink/red for those higher than the average ("hotter" than the average). The more intense the color, the greater the variation from the average.
If you have questions about the results classifications, please contact Les Tate at LRTATE@LIVE.COM.
