THE GOAL of the Skillman DNA Project is to verify through Y-DNA the true descendants of Thomas Skillman, who arrived in this country in 1664 as a soldier in the English Army. He married Sara Petit (Pettit) in 1669 and they had three daughters and one son, Thomas-2, born in 1671, who married Annetje Aten in 1693. Thomas and Annetje had five sons from whom all Skillmans in America are thought to be descended. Additionally, to determine if Skillmans elsewhere in the world are related to each other and/or to the Skillmans in America.
